We have 8 holiday Cottages in and around the pretty village of Cloughton sleeping from 3 guests in Fern Cottage to 10 guests in Plantation Cottage. The Cottages are a diversification of our working farm where we rear Aberdeen Angus cattle and milk our dairy cows. In the fields around the cottages during the summer months our Angus cattle can be seen ambling around and peacefully munching grass.
In 2015 we took the decision to diversify to help us keep farming and we started with Newlands Farm. With the three Cottages Rose, Fern and Lavender then in 2016 we renovated Newlands Farm House adding our fourth Cottage. Two years later we purchased Hayburn Beck Farm adding The Mistal, Threshers Cottage and Hayburn Beck Farm House. In 2019 we renovated Plantation Cottage and are now have 8 properties that have been sympathetically modernised keeping the many original and traditional features for our guests to enjoy.
Farmers at heart we have enjoyed developing our holiday cottage business, creating peaceful relaxing accommodations for our guests to enjoy. We hope you enjoy the cottages and area as much as we love living and working in the beautiful North York Moors National Park.
Everyone always loves to know a little more about who is behind the scenes and what goes on so I would like to introduce you to our team.
I am a farmer’s wife and spend a lot of my time milking cows and caring for calves. Then I take great pleasure in looking after the holiday cottages to ensure that they are ready for our guests. In my spare time I make cheese with our own milk.
Pam does the majority of our photography work and also does our social media. She loves walking and cycling so she is out trying new walks and cycle routes for you to enjoy. While out and about she is looking for nice cafes, pubs and other eateries for you to enjoy.
Michelle is the lady that does our laundry. Spending her time washing, drying, ironing bedding and making sure the towels are fluffy ready for you to use. She is from Whitby and loves the view of Whitby Abbey from her house and all the town has to offer.
Josie is one of our lovely housekeeping team who is very meticulous preparing cottages for guests. When not at work she spends all her time with her Afghan hound, Borzoi and Deer hound, helping us provide what your dogs need on their holidays too.
Jessica is still at school but works Saturdays and school holidays in the house keeping team to earn money so that she can enjoy her passion for motor bikes. She says what can be better than having a motor bike? Two motor bikes!
